BABE CITY

Mia Tims dreams in vivid color — gut wrenching drama, surreal dialogue, crowds full of people she no longer knows, lovers, and people who despise her. She routinely wakes up in a pool of sweat with a song half formed. Alongside bandmates Theo Hoffstrom and Jackson James, Mia turns these dreams into the music of Babe City. After releasing their debut album I Love You Forever (November 2024), the Brooklyn-based dreampop band brought a new deliberancy to the creation of their upcoming record, out Fall

This meant burrowing for long hours in their self-built Bushwick studio, but it also meant immersing themselves into Twin Peaks, obsessing over spirals, making friends with strangers, debating social psychology, sometimes moving far away from music only to return with fresh ideas. They built a deep well of references that went beyond their initial impulses, enriching their unique blend of noise rock, artpop, and electronica. They look to chase the surreal incoherence
of dreams without sacrificing their emotional intensity. The end product: a musical dreamscape as hazy, vibrant and surreal as Mia’s dreams.
